Make yourself a list of things you can do to relax yourself when you are feeling stressed. Things like taking a walk, deep breathing, writing, anything that you enjoy that can take your mind off of things for a bit.

The best way to relax with all the stress revolving around is to find a couple of hobbies that you genuinely like, or help you feel relaxed. It would helpful to incorporate these hobbies at least twice daily in your schedule. While you're performing this hobby, make sure to eat a healthy snack during/after, depending on which hobby. Sleeping on time every night will also make you feel refreshed each morning, diminishing half the stress each day!

Stress is not caused by what is going on around you, but by your reaction to it. If others around you are stressed, not the effect it's having on you. Remind yourself that their experience doesn't need to be your experience. If that is not enough, give yourself a "time out" from the stressful environment to calm and center yourself.

Sit by yourself and do nothing, not looking at a photo , not listening to music, not reminiscing for ten minutes every day. Giving yourself time to yourself can be so rewarding.

Deep breathing exercises really help; breathing in slowly through your nose, then releasing slowly out of your mouth. Also take yourself out of the negative, stressful environment by going outside, or simply just by doing something you love like playing an instrument, or watching a movie.

Let's take school as example. I usually just drop all my schoolwork for a bit and sit down to realize school is just about 20% of my life. There's also friends, family, sports.. etc etc. Then I just do something I enjoy doing; like listening to music or drawing. When I'm feeling less stressed I pick up the work again and lots of the time the stress wasn't even necessary :). So just calm down, realize it's not everything and do something you enjoy! (Oh and go to sleep early some nights)

Always take time out of your day to be alone. It is the best time to reduce your stress levels while thinking about all of the different things going on in your life. Meditation can help slow down your thoughts so that you can work on them one by one instead of being overwhelmed.

Breathe deeply. Stop working and breathe. Feel free to take a short walk- to the park, around the block, even just pacing in your room can help. Then continue, with music at your side.
