At what point does sleep deprivation become a problem?

This differs a lot from person to person, so regardless of the amount of total hours you're sleeping, if you start to be dizzy or confused throughout the day, often feel either hot or cold for no reason, have difficulty concentrating, or are just tired all the time, those are all symptoms of sleep deprivation. Of course if the symptoms are explained or aren't unusual (maybe you always have difficulty concentrating or maybe dizziness is caused by low blood-pressure), this doesn't apply. But do take it seriously, especially if you drive. Plus, life is more fun when you're fully awake to experience it.

Any sleep deprivation is problematic as it impacts your body's restitution. It also diminishes your brain's neurological function and ability to clean out any build up of "junk". Sleep deprivation can be and often is a symptom of an underlying problem, please consult with a doctor.

Well, that's quite a hard question. I'm not an expert or specialist, but in my opinion it becomes a problem when it affects your life, mood and daily problems start to feel harder to overcome.

It's a problem when it starts affecting your daily life either physically or emotionally. If you're no longer able to function in your normal daily activities, this can start affecting your emotional well-being. On top of that not sleeping on it's own can affect your mental health. It's important to get proper sleep. If you have trouble sleeping, you should considering seeing a doctor to discuss your trouble sleeping

A good rule of thumb that I like to follow is when something starts to affect your day to day life, it's a problem and it's worth bringing up to a professional. If you find yourself struggling to complete your normal day to day tasks, like going to school., or work, it's time to ask for help. Sometimes, professional help isn't immediately available to everyone. That's a typical problem, and it does not mean there's no help available for you. Do research, find methods that help you get the sleep you need in the mean time. But the internet is no replacement for a professional. Reach out if you need it, there's always a way.

When you can pass out just about anywhere because of the lack of sleep, when you fall asleep during the day, in school, at work, through meals. When you start experiencing other problems because you havent slept. When you start losing people around you because they know something is wrong with you and hey dont want to be caught up with that.

It is hard to tell when different things are becoming a problem, however once the sleep deprivation starts to affect your daily life, thats when it can become a problem. For example, if you go to school/college and it starts to affect your grades and the amount you are able to focus, then it has become a problem and you may want to look at seeking help. Likewise with a job, if it is affecting your ability to do daily tasks, then you may want to explore different options to help with your sleep deprivation. I hope this helps
