If the wound is turning purple then it may be healing. this is a good sign to a safe recovery. if the wound is starting to feel more painful, seek medical attention. it may be infected which can sometimes take a while to heal but after going to the doctor it will help you feel better. The type of injury depends on the care you will receive- deep wounds may turn purple around the exterior, although on the inside of the wound it will not turn purple. on smaller injuries or bruises it may stay purple for a while but will heal.

Some wounds turn purple because the thromocytes, a type of blood cells start creating blood clots after you get wounded. These blood clots are totally ok as they prevent you from losing too much blood. These blood clots are black and eventuelly they become purple because new tissue builds up over the blood clots. Underneath is still blood clot but above is new skin. This blood clot will disappear eventuelly after the wound will heal completelly. Some wounds take longer to heal because they are deeper, more serious or they cover more important parts of the body or parts where large bleeding could occur without these clots.

On a less severe scale, some wounds will turn purple because they are beginning to bruise. However, on a more severe scale, a wound may turn purple because it is infected. If this happens, go to your nearest emergency room and have a doctor look at your wound. Whatever the news may be, listen to your caregiver and follow what they tell you to do to the tee. After all of that, stay calm and return to normal life as much as you can. You will get better in time so give your body the time to do that.

Hello! Some wounds turn purple, such as bruises, because they are blood forming together under the skin. This is called a hematoma, having just an abnormal collection of cells. This mean the wound is healing. So, when your wound is turning purple, it is due to hemoglobin breaking down which is found in your blood. If this is becoming a concern for you, I suggest seeing a doctor if you have more questions about this. Asking a doctor would be your best course of action if you are extremely concerned about your wound turning purple:)

Some wounds turn people so that we can address this wound we have. Purple and red on our bodies signals for our body and our mind that this area needs to heal, and we can be more aware of this need for healing from the color. As time passes, and as we do more healing internally and externally, the color of the wound will change. Physical wounds may change colors in a shorter amount of time than deeper emotional wounds; a cut on your arm physically will heal sooner than the equivalent to a bullet wound emotionally, therefore more attention is needed.
