Some wounds turn purple based on the type of impact they have had. Mostly these wounds would be bruises, even if skin is cut. The white blood cells or your little 'saver cells' help clot up the blood if your skin has been cut. If not they rush to the hurt area to help heal. When doing this it minimizes the red blood cell count in an injury to help clot blood and maximize healing of the area. If the wound gets green or a yellow puss comes out, then the area is infected. That is when you should look for your doctors help. :)

Because the wounds become bruised it's had an huge impact to the area, Which causing bruising. If it becomes any worse in pussing fluids you need to contact a doctor or have temp. Some wounds turn purple because it's part of the healing process. There are different steps of the process of healing. But the wound that turns into purple is just a process of your body giving a signal to give more of a blood flow to that area to help heal up the wound. Some wounds turn purple due to the fact that it's a new wound which has been hurt or injured just recently. The wound turns purple and it may start to feel itchy but it's just the process of healing. But if it gets infected you'll start to see some puss and if you see puss within the purple would it does need to be taken a look and start cleaning up the wound covering it up so it has a better chance of healing up without an infection.

The wound turning red or purple can signify that it is a new scaring and that it is now just starting the healing process. And just to give more information, the red or purple scarring could also be a signal that your body is isn't getting enough circulation to a particular spot too.

Well, it could be for a number of reasons. In my experience mine turn purple when I either have a bruise as well as a cut, or that there is an infection coming on. It is different for everyone so if it is causing you stress and pain for more than however you feel is necessary depending on the wound then I would suggest getting it checked. It is better to be safe rather than sorry and you never know, it could just be perfectly fine, but our health Is very important and in a time like this when it's a pandemic, If its an infection or something else it may make your immune system weaker.

I have never thought of this but I think that wounds turn purple because the blood doesn t get to them. Or at least the rght amount doesn t get where it s supposed to go to heal it. They turn yellow when they are close to fully healed. I know that beneath the wound there are like tissues ? ? ? I am not sure tho ha ha. But if it gets a funny smell or a strange colour I think you should see someone like a doctor or a dermathologist to investigate further on the wound. yea

Depending on the depth, cuts often will bleed. Bruises are the result of hard contact with a person or an object. The impact causes an injury to the tissue beneath the skin, and blood from the injury settles near the skin. Bruises usually start out looking red, then within a few hours turn blue or purple, and finally appear yellow as they fade. They turn purple because the blood flowing in that area is mostly venous blood trying to make its way to the heart. Venous blood has a darker color due to a lack of oxygen-bound hemoglobin. There is more venous blood in that stage of wound healing because your body is still building new arterioles that had been damaged by the cut. Arterial blood flow comes from the heart towards the limbs of your bodies and is more red because they have more oxygen-bound hemoglobin.

Scar is composed of collagen fibers irrigated with networks of small capillary vessels. These vessels are newly formed and not yet under the control of autonomic nervous system. The scar tissue vessels can not adapt the change in circumstance of blood stream. As a result blood stream in the scar tissue ( especiall deeper layer ) remains relative slow and they contain venous blood which has dark color. On the other hand we see the deeper layer of scar tissue through superficial layer. On this situation we feel bluish, just like our vein on the back of hand as bluish.

In the initial stages of wound healing, the wound and developing scar appear red or reddish-purple. This is because the injured area sends signals to the body to direct more blood flow to the area to help the healing process. It it can also depend on the type of wound. The purple discoloration to the granulation tissue can indicate pressure or trauma. If proper off loading is not obtained wound healing will be delayed and even impossible. Common causes of purple skin include bleeding, bruising, and broken blood vessels under the skin. A severe lack of oxygen in the blood (cyanosis) results in purple skin. Injuries may be a cause of bleeding and purple skin.
