This may be due to bruising of skin which may occur after trauma to the skin. The blood under the skin which causes the discoloration of bruising should be totally reabsorbed by the body in three weeks or less

It could be bruising coming out it could also be where you cut and the blood vessels directly above the cut have broken down and caused this purple mark.
Just keep a close eye on it and see if it gets worse its not infection by the sounds of it but just watch it.

this could occur due to many reasons. If the wound is a very severe one, it can cause excessive hemolysis of RBCs and due to this reason that effected area might appear a bit bluish or purple in colour. If the colour stays there for a long time, the wound should be treated as it might be a sign of some bleeding disorders

If the symptoms persist for a long time, then it may be due to formation of hematoma because of blood trapped in tissues. This blood may need to be drained.
