Well first off it is really really bad for your health to cut yourself or any other methods that people use. You can get very sick and a number of other problem and can happen. Sometimes resulting in death. How does it make the pain go away? You’re only hurting yourself more and what’s worse for the rest of your life you’ll carry those scars! Don’t hurt yourself! WE can HELP you! Come to us whenever you’re feeling down and hurt. Think about your life first and other people around you that you care about. And don’t ever forget that hey you matter!

self harm is seen as a harmful coping mechanism because in the process of doing so it jeopardises your physical health which is just as important as mental health as well. it can put you in danger of infections, going to far and then without meaning to can end with you in the hospital, it can become an addicting coping mechanism that can then end up with you dead. this is also a very short term coping mechanism and doesn't directly solve the issue or help you process it in any way leading to other issues that can be similar to drug use. so even though it feel good in the short term it can be very harmful to your physical and mental health in the long term
