i think that we believe it is okay for ourselves to hurt ourselves without it being a big deal because we are so used to feeling pain, but when someone else does it we realize the effect it has and how damaging it truly is. it is one of those things where people say its not good EXCEPT when i do it. we always think we deserve it but nobody else does. the reality is we believe others shouldn't do it, then we are part of the everybody that shouldn't self harm our hurt ourselves. if we believe someone else should not, why is it any different for you.

when you first start, it seems scary but when you start more and more, it doesn't feel as if its too bad. As long as you are not putting yourself in danger. But what you don't realize about it is if someone who loves you finds out you are doing it, it will break their heart because they love you and don't want you to hurt yourself in any way. Its a very big deal because it is bad for yourself and others around you.

Many people minimize the issue of self-harm because they see it as only a coping strategy. I know that I minimized self-harm whenever I chose to do it for that exact reason.

when you do something for so long you don't see a problem with it and you begin to think that its okay ever though im sure a part of you knows its not, but you do it anyways because it gives you a sense of relief, it may seem like its not a big deal but it really is, think of the consequences what if one day you drink to much, cut to deep, smoke one to many, etc. you just got to tell yourself everyday that it is a big deal.

Most of the time, people hurt themselves because their family or friends stop them from showing emotion around them, so people resort to self harm. I know a lot about it, just try and find a way to shift your negative energy into a better effective outcome. Say, if someone says you'll be unsuccessful, try not to be discouraged, instead, show them how amazing of a person you are by succeeding.

It's true when they say some people really are their worst enemy. If it was someone else you knew hurting themselves you'd be devastated yet if its you, you don't mind. Self harm is a big deal and very serious, no mater who struggles with it. Maybe it's because you feel you deserve to feel that way or do that to yourself, but i can assure you, you do not deserve to feel that pain and feel as though its not a big deal x
