Feeling numb is most likely a state of your mind that is used to protect yourself from feeling hurt. When bad things happen to you and your mind is so overstrained with all the feelings that might cause you, feeling numb is for the mind what being totally exhaused is for the body. If whatever is hurting you can´t be solved for whatever reasons, then you´ll need to get some good emotions into your life. Try to relax, try to find something that interests you - no matter if it is spending hours walking around, painting, gardening, etc. - and most importantly, try to feel your self. As strange as it may sound, being able to feel your self is something that can be really hard. Take some time for yourself where you are working on understanding what you feel and want, who you are and how it feels to be you in that moment, being alive and breathing. Meditation can do much sometimes, also sports are good. But all of that are just tips and tricks that might work for some, but not for all. The best help that you can get is most likely the professional help of a therapist, who can get to know you and help you find out what the right way for yourself is.

Tell someone who is extremely close to you and they care about you. I've been through it and have been clean for almost a month because of my best friends. It is that we all need to realize that we are not alone in this world.

When feeling numb or wanting to hurt yourself try doing something that will allow you to distract yourself, such as going for a walk or calling a friend and asking them if they want to do something. You should have someone you can talk to when you are feeling like this and it will help.

Do something you enjoy to distract yourself, whether it be drawing, sports or anything else. Get up and get outside. It always helps to go for a run or even just to walk around and clear your head. Think of everything you're thankful for and try imagining what your loved ones would say if they saw the makrs on your skin from hurting yourself.

Just breath in and breath out. Think of all the people including yourself who will be hurt by doing this. Keep it away. Look at yourself in the mirror and just breath in and breath out.
