Yes. Any form of injury that causes harm to one's self is considered self-harm. Burning, whether it be with acid, fire, boiling water, etc. is considered self-harm. One definition that I found of self-harm is: the act of deliberately harming the surface of your own body. If you are self-harming, I hope that you reach out for support and help in those you trust. Yes it does count since you are hurting yourself. The tool used isn't what counts. It's the fact that your are inflicting harm and pain on yourself that decides whether what you are doing is self harm.
