I absolutely would call this self-harm. Self-harm is defined by deliberate harm to oneself- it does not matter whether that means a certain method or not.

Yes it does. First of all unless you were a scientist there really is not a lot of ways to get a hold of acid as toxic as some found in labs could be, there really should be no way a person can get acid. Second if you were to get a hold of acid that can cause harm, it would be intentional because you physically would need to go and get it. I don't think people will keep acid that is not safe in the house. So in my view yes.
