Depending on the depth of your scars and how old they are some remedies might not be as effective as others. If you have older scars – vitamin E oil is good, they come in capsules so you would typically break them open and drip the oil onto your scars and gently massage them into your skin. There is also Vitamin E lotion that you can use.
If your scars are relatively new, you can try over-the-counter remedies like bio oil, silicone gel sheet, mederma, or scar reduction creams/gels. Natural remedies are also great for fresh scars, these can range from petroleum jelly, aloe vera, lemon juice, olive oil, chamomile tea, honey and other organic oils. Also, keep your scars of the sun and wear sunscreen or cover them when you're outside because new scars are very sensitive to ultraviolet rays, which slows down the time it takes for them to heal. The sun can also increase discolouration of scars.
If you want immediate results, makeup is good for covering scars, or even getting a tattoo over them. Medical treatment might also be an option if you're willing, like dermabrasion, scar revision surgery, laser resurfacing and skin grafting which are for more severe scars.

There are topical creams that you can purchase that will reduce the appearance of scars. However, all scars will fade over time but depending not he severity of the harm, they might not fade completely. Our best bet would be time. For now, it is important to not be ashamed of our scars, but to embrace them and have them signify a point in our lives that we have overcome. Everything about our past is what makes us who we are today and it is completely healthy to accept what has happened and use those experiences to our advantage in the future.
