Self-esteem is used to describe a person's overall sense of self-worth or personal value. In other words, how much you appreciate and like yourself. It can involve a variety of beliefs about yourself, such as the appraisal of your own appearance, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors.

To me, self-esteem means my confidence, it's "how would you describe yourself to someone else?", believing in your own abilities, liking what you see in the mirror, knowing you can accomplish anything you set your mind out to. Despite how overwhelming all of that sounds, high self-esteem knows that you will have your moments of self-doubt... but you will find your way out of those moments because you are amazing and unique and worthy of love/happiness!

In the Psychology dictionary, self-esteem means:
One's attitude towards oneself or one's opinion or evaluation of oneself, which may be positive (favourable or high), neutral, or negative (unfavourable or low). Also called self-evaluation.
Wow, sounds like a lot. To me, self-esteem is your overall opinion of yourself — how you feel about your abilities and limitations. When you have healthy self-esteem, you feel good about yourself and see yourself as deserving the respect of others. When you have low self-esteem, you put little value on your opinions and ideas.
So if you were someone else, and someone said "Your name", what would be your first thought about that person, technically you. How would you describe yourself?
