Family therapy can be beneficial if those involved are receptive to the idea, trust the process, and are welling to be honest and work through whatever concerns need to be address.

It varies. Therapy may work for one family, but may not be beneficial for another. You should do what you believe will help your family best.

Family therapy allows a forum so that all of the members can be heard. So often one or more of the members of a family are afraid to speak without the encouragement and support of an unbiased listener.

Family therapy is beneficial to a certain extent. Therapy depends on how much an individual gives, it could address any problems and may help sort things out in a civil way.

Family will always support you and try to help you, but it is also true that sometimes they are not subjective enough because they know you too much. Plus, sometimes they can judge in excess. In any case, you will always be able to count on them, as having someone to listen to you, makes you feel stronger. Remember you are not facing problems alone!

It can be if you find a competent professional. It isn't a magical fix, however. It takes a lot of time.

It can be but, there has to be emotional "buy in" the family involved has to want to make the changes necessary and know that therapy will give them those tools and techniques needed to succeed. In the end its about going for the right reasons.

Family therapy has been shown to have many positive effects! Allow me to share a direct quote from GAMFT (Georgia Association for Marriage and Family Therapy): "A review of family therapy research examined its long-term effects and found that, in follow-up periods ranging from six weeks to three years, only 36% of patients in family therapy required further treatment, as compared with 58% of those undergoing alternative therapies. When measures of recidivism are examined, such as hospitalization, family therapy also shows a higher success rate than alternative treatments.
Studies have shown that marriage and family therapy has been successful in treating alcoholism, anorexia and other eating disorders, psychosomatic asthma, overly aggressive children, juvenile delinquency, and other problems." It is absolutely worth it! :)

Family therapy can be really helpful for those who need it. It can be a great therapy style that can help families to see their problems and how to communicate better. Individual therapy is great and can help people with personal issues but family therapy can help all the individuals involved to come together and work things out.
