No, you would not be a bad person just because of how your father treats you. I grew up with my dad in my life, however I have never felt close with him. When we talk, it is about superficial topics like classes I was taking or the weather. I often felt awkward if I was ever with him alone. The way a father treats his child is not the child's fault. It has to do something with him. We might never know what it is, but it is okay to try to find out. The way he treats you most likely has impacted you and how you act. Do not blame yourself. Be true to yourself and if he does not respond positively, it is his loss.
