Why is this happening to ME? That's a question I always have whenever I begin to feel anxious and start to feel a panic attack forming inside of me. Why ME?

Well, to start of, you are not alone. Many others experience anxiety and panic attacks, and I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder. I get the same thoughts, but then I try to think a little deeper and I think about the friends that also have panic attacks and a ton of anxiety, and it makes me feel less alone, safer. It makes me feel safer because if they can make it through the anxiousness, I can too. So my recommendation would be to try and remind yourself that you are not alone, and even though it stinks, you can get through it.

It's a natural part of having a panic attack. Just try to focus on the fact panic attacks happen to thousands of people and they all feel the same way and that each attack will be over shortly.

Mental health doesn't discriminate against anyone. It can affect everyone no matter their personality traits or age etc. There's nothing specifically about you that dictates whether you experience a panic attack compared to the next person.

Going through a panic attack and experiencing anxiety is very stressful, and speaking from personal experience, it's can be easy to compare yourself to others that don't seem to be going through the same thing. When you feel alone and wonder "why me?", reaching out to a community that has experienced similar thoughts and emotions can be helpful in feeling less alone. Talking to others who have also been anxious and had panic attacks can provide you with a sense of community and solidarity. I always felt like there was something wrong with me when I experienced anxiety, and wished I could be "normal," but after talking to my friends, I was able to understand that other people want to support me and see me succeed.
