I try not to think so much about why but I try to be AWARE A: Accept the anxiety. Don't try to fight it. W: Watch the anxiety. Imagine it is outside of you and you are just observing it. A: 'Act normal'. Carry on as if nothing is happening. Panic will soon 'get bored'. R: Repeat the above steps until you start to relax again. E: Expect the best - it will pass quicker and quicker the more times you do this.

For a lot of people, once you have experienced one panic attack, it's the fear of having another that heightens your anxiety and can bring more panic attacks on. Yes panic attacks are awful, scary and horrendous to deal with BUT they can't hurt you, they ALWAYS pass so remembering this can help you lose that fear. Once you lose the fear and accept anxiety and panic attacks for what they are they lose their power and will happen less and less until they stop.

Panic attacks are a result of high stress or anxiety. For me they keep happening when I am unable to cope effientiently. My biggest feelings before a panic attack are hopelessness or insecurity. I want to be able to get to the point where I have a lot less panic attacks, which is not solely due to medication administration. To do this, I feel I need to be more comfortable with myself and try to not stress as much with change in general. Some things that help prevent me from a panic attack are yoga, journaling, dance, singing and playing guitar, grounding, my boyfriend.

Maybe it's because you haven't yet been able to identify what causes them in the first place. There is always a trigger, something that makes them happen.

Panic attacks are often common when we have a sudden burst of fear and anxiety. This is caused by the body's natural reflex to prepare for a 'fight or flight' situation and this subconsciously triggers a set of physiological reflexes (as well as disturbing and fearful thoughts)
