Many people have different symptoms when it comes to panic attacks, mostly it is breathing difficulties, sometimes tingling in hands and feet, sweating, hot and cold flashes, vision may start to be affected, you may feel nausea or feel slightly faint: the list is endless. It is important if you do have a panic attack to try and pinpoint what triggered it and sometimes doing breathing techniques each day can reduce the chance of you having a panic attack, so make sure you take the time in the day for yourself.

One easy sign to know if you're having a panic attack is if you have tightness in your chest, or trouble breathing. That's the first thing I would look out for. General nervousness or worry that you're going to freak out would be another. If you think you're having a heart attack (but are young and healthy) you probably are just having a panic attack.

Typically, for me, I start to hyperventilate, and lose track of time and myself/my emotions. You sort of detach from the world. Breathing may quicken, you may shake, you'll feel scared and confused. These are all normal. Always remember to breathe! In the nose, out the mouth, and repeat.

You would have some indication that you are having a panic attack because you might feel that your heart is racing, hands might feel sweaty and you may even begin to feel quite dizzy. It's sometimes helpful to sit down and stomp your feet on the floor to remind yourself of where you are and give yourself something to concentrate on or get in touch with a 7 cups listener.
