They can be dangerous, but those are mostly mental. Physical symptoms are mostly your heart speeding up. It isn't too dangerous, just like you just finished a hard jog. You should definitely try to calm down afterwards by doing something quiet like reading

A panic attack is actually harmless! They are your body's (slightly malfunctioning) defense system, so it will want you to stay safe. Although you may be as though you may have a heart attack or might faint, you will be fine. Panic attacks can only hurt you in your mind.

Usually they're not physically harmful at all. A panic attack will often have us feeling like we're going to expire at any moment, and while it's happening you're second guessing your own logic and it feels completely real! But rest assured that other than an elevated heart rate and possibly higher blood pressure, your body is really okay. It might help to keep in mind that you're physically safe, even though your mind is doing loop-de-loops, and once you recognize that you're panicking you can at least reassure yourself that's what's going on.

The physical symptoms themselves are not dangerous , it just makes you think your going to die, your heart races till you can't feel it no more, by now your hyperventilating to the point you feel you can't catch your breath , in extreme cases you start crying from being scared and your hands start shaking, and your legs and arms feel very weak and possibly feel numb, by the time you think you are dying it's almost over, you distracted yourself from what triggered the panic attack to begin with
