In my experience, I've been dealing with depression for so many years that it was foreign to feel okay. So, depression was sort of like my home, it was all I knew. So I felt sad for no at all.

It could be depression, or it could be an event that your conscious mind doesn't want to register. In any case, you should never make yourself feel guilty for being sad. Emotions are (for the most part) uncontrollable, so the best thing to do is label how you're feeling, accept it, and try to move past it in a healthy way. This can include spending time with people, getting outside, completing a task or project, taking care of your body, or creating something to express yourself.

Feeling sad doesn't necessarily have to do with your own mental emotions. Hormones and other characteristics affect you greatly, especially in your teenage years. It can make you act out in rage, make you depressed, or it can give you an affect similar to being bipolar. It's a natural thing to be sad every now and then, even if there is nothing to be sad about. Although other reasons could be, for instance, a family member/close friend dying. Although you think that you got past their death, it is always with you. But that doesn't necessarily make on depressed. I mean its better to celebrate their life instead of mourning their death.

We sometimes feel sad without knowing the reason because we don't pay attention to the small details that keep taking us down little by little, day by day. And one day, suddenly, we realize where we are.

I feel sad for no reason, sometimes, because I think this is how our body reminds us that we're just humans. A reminder that you don't need to fake that your strong or you can, that it's okay to feel sad about what happened. Sometimes we tend to forget caring for ourselves that we unconsciously becoming sad about it. It's a reminder we shouldn't miss nor ignore.
