Why do I sometimes feel sad for no reason?

You probably didn't get sad without any reason; you got sad without being consciously aware of the reason.
This can happen to anybody. Often, it occurs when you make an unconscious link to something else that made you sad in the past. It is impossible for someone else to say what in particular made you sad this time; it could be any kind of sensory input. The smell of the flowers at your grandmother's funeral. Light shining through a window the way it was while you were arguing with a partner and the relationship ended. A song that was playing when you got fired. This can trigger emotion even when you don't remember having experienced it before, because those memories can still be lurking about even when you can't consciously recall them.

I used to feel this. And now I've found out that what made me sad was loneliness. So my solution was catching things up on the internet or doing something else.

Yes, it is perfectly normal. Feeling sad for no reason happens to everyone, you aren't alone. Trust me. Negative emotions sometimes just strike at any time.

We all feel sad for no reason sometimes , is best to just let it out and get it out of the way! I still never truly know why but sometimes we just feel upset . Just relax at that point and watch something that'll make you laugh

There are so many reason you could feel this way. Maybe something happened in the day that made you feel 'off', but you ignored it at the time, but it left a residual sad feeling and now you can't quite remember why.....
Maybe there are lots of little things that don't bother you so much individually, but added together make you feel low.
Maybe it's a hormonal thing - I spent may years feeling low until I realised that it was the hormone tablets I was taking. It is now well documented that oral contraception can cause depression. Don't push the sadness away. We all feel sad from time to time. Let the emotions be, let your thoughts flow around it and now that you can and will feel happy again!

If I knew the reason, I'd tell you! It may be something to do with the old adage that what you don't know can hurt you. We have a lot of things stashed away in our subconscious and some of it is no doubt troubling. The good news is that there's positive stuff in the closet, too.

It's because you usually don't think about how worth you are. You sometimes feel some anxiety. You should be more open, more talk active and be friendly. I do that to..

It is normal to feel sad sometimes. However, if you feel that you are feeling sad often for no reason at all, there's a chance you could be suffering from depression, and reaching out to a professional would be a good next step.
