If you're a naturally empathetic and thoughtful person, it is very easy to internalise others' pain and suffering, especially that of those whom you care about. This trait shows that you are a very special and caring person, but taking on too much of their burden might mean that you end up feeling more tired than usual, that you cry more often or that you feel overwhelmed by your daily life. To counter this, remember that you can only help others if you first take care of yourself.

Empathy. Depending on what you've been through, you may be feeling sad because you don't want people to go through what you have. You may also feel sad about other peoples problems because you can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be in their situation. Some peoples problems are so sad that you may feel like you wish you could help.

I think that a component of good listening is empathy. However, for some people, that empathy can become so strong that they might take on other people's problems as their own and become sad. I think a healthy way of listening is to share your empathy with the other person, while maintaining that their problems are their own. As a listener, our job is to help the other person solve their problems within themselves with their own strength and ability.

because you are an empathetic person :) you care about other people a lot and really don't wish for them to feel emotionally down or sad. but you have to be careful, caring for someone else's problems to a high extent (If you are feeling too much of someone else's pain) and its effecting your daily life, then it need to be taken care of. You must learn to love yourself first. you should care for others but not to an extent where you are not looking after yourself.

You are actually sad about yourself and not about other people's problems. Take a look at yourself and your suffering. Good luck.

You are very empathetic. It's both a gift and curse. You feel other people's pain which can cause you distress, but it means you can give other people a voice. You can let them know that you've seen and understood their pain. To be in pain, and have no one understand is an awful and lonely thing. You can help to stop people feeling that. It's why I'm a listener :)

That's just human, pal. It's the feeling of empathy, where you put yourself into other people's shoes. I worry about my friends' problems as well, and feel sad if I cannot help them sometimes. It's a good thing that you feel sympathetic towards other people. It means that you are a very caring person, and really want to help them.
