It can feel hard when we're going through complicated or difficult emotions. One thing that I've had to teach myself is not to beat myself up too much, or give myself too much of a hard time. So the first thing I would do here is accept the emotion without judgement. I'm feeling upset, it's ok to feel upset, it's not how I want to feel all the time, but it's ok. Once I am ok with how I am feeling, once I have accepted it, that helps me to move forwards and to change my feelings and my mind. This is not an overnight process it takes time, but I believe we shouldn't push too hard as this can make us feel worse in the long run. Self acceptance and self compassion are key

Hi, I am sorry you are going through this. I can relate to this feeling. I am sure many of us go through these prolonged periods of inertia and dullness. We may not always know, but there is definitely some strong underlying force/reason which makes us sad. Try to identify that. One of the best ways to do so is to write down whatever is going on in your mind and read them each week. You will soon find what exactly is going wrong. Hope that helps. Feel free to reach out anytime :D Sending you hugs and best wishes

Its okay to feel sad every once in a while but if its repetitive and you feel hopeless or empty, and you feel as if the feeling is never going to go away, then it would be best to talk to a trusted individual. If you feel you don't have that then I suggest you visit a counselor or a therapist. There is nothing wrong with seeing one and it doesn't mean something has to be wrong with you to see a therapist/school counselor. That would be the best option, but if you feel otherwise, you are not alone, and listeners on 7cup will gladly have a chat with you if you'd like so. It may also be wise to look up depression and see if you have similar symptoms, if so, then I do recommend seeing a school counselor/therapist.
