What is keeping me from being happy?

There can be a lot of things contributing to that. You are probably expecting too much and are hence not satisfied, thus unhappy. Maybe some incident of sorts has kept you from being happy as you are not able to get over it. One could also be depending on others for their own happiness, which is a risky thing to do. So go ahead, try to find happiness from small things and forget whatever you have been through in those small moments!

My attitude. When I employ an altruistic approach, I feel more fulfilled and better able to choose happiness. I keep in mind daily, sometimes hourly that my outlook and feelings can provoke any outcome. Others may influence me but I am able create boundaries that acknowledge my true self. And, I never fail to rely on my wonderful supporters and life long friends.

I like to think only you can control how you ACTUALLY feel, no matter what happens, no matter who does what that may affect you. So long as you train your mind, train your thoughts and strengthen them to deal with different situations with a more positive attitude and outlook of life, I think that will help minimise all the negativity and thereby maximise the happiness you feel as a result.

Each of us is unique. What makes you happy may not make someone else happy. Additionally, we change as we grow older. Yet, evidence suggests that some things are more consistently associated with happiness. For example, genuine happiness is linked to finding contentment, avoiding envy, cultivating love for others, and building mental and emotional resilience.

You are! Really no one else can stand in your way if you decide that you want to happy. It sounds easier said than done but good things never come easy. When you choose to think bad thoughts and decide to be happy, you can be!

I am keeping myself from being happy. I am clinging onto bitterness, resentment, and pain due to my inability to simply come to acceptance with the situation. However, acceptance is essential to forgiveness and letting go. Forgiveness is my key to happiness and freedom.

Yourself. This is because you are responsible for your own happiness and no one else. Don't let others be responsible for your happiness then u will never be happy.

I understand how confusing and frustrating it can be when you want to be happy and can't be.
But, no one can stop you from it. Except you.
Maybe you keep overthinking things, or stress alot, are scared of moving forward or accepting change, or maybe you just tend to see and delve in the negatives of any situation.
I am not judging you. It's okay to be scared and stressed. But for you to be happy you need to try to find positivism in everything - every person, every place, every situation.
Remind yourself of the things you are grateful for. Remember the truly happy moments in your life and cherish them.
I know it seems easy for me to say. But I have been there as well. I understand how upsetting it can get. But I am here to motivate you and you can try.
Try a little hard every day, taking one small step at a time. I know you must be trying and I am sure, if you keep going, you are gonna get there :)
Only you have the power and authority over yourself. As the saying goes, "It's mind over matter".
Hope this helps. Good Luck :)
