Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) affects a high percentage of women of childbearing age, with many women feeling mood changes in the days before menstruation. And while menstrual symptoms like irritability, anger, and mood swings are a monthly bother for most women, severe PMS can be emotionally debilitating for some.

It definitely is normal! It's what makes us ladies quite feisty and fearful during that "time of the month".. It is natural to have mood swings, in fact, it literally has it's own scientific term, aka PMS.. You can look it up later. Anyways as brief explanation as to why you're having such mood swings, it's because your hormones are experiencing some changes.. And let's be honest, when your sides are cramping due to the life bleeding outta your uterus, it's just normal to have mood swings. I'm pretty sure everyone close to you would understand that. However, focusing on making yourself happy will minimise such swings. Eat chocolate, get warm, watch cliche cheesy series, anythings that makes you happy, fellow PMSer. I hope my answer was helpful ^^

Absolutely. Sometimes there are just things that are out of our control like hormones during our menstruation cycles! One of the things they classify this under is PMS, which stands for premenstrual syndrome – it's the combination of symptoms that some women suffer from a week or so before their period. For women with severe PMS, medication may be needed but otherwise exercise, small frequent meals, calcium supplements, stress management, and avoiding caffeine can all help with PMS symptoms. If there's more serious issues concerning behavior, I'd recommend visiting a doctor and getting a diagnosis. Hope you stay well!

Absolutely. Mood swings can occur prior and during menstruation cycles. It's torture because one may feel like there's no control over emotions while responding to situations. But it's a normal part of the cycle.

Mood changes are a normal part of menstration cycles as the level of reproductive hormones in the body increase and this can effect the balance of the levels of dopamine and seratonin in the brain and cause the irratability or sad feelings often associated with menstration. However if it becomes a problem in your daily life, causing you to not function or avoid your normal activities then this is not normal and you should seek help from a medical professional. There are lots of options available to help you if you are struggling. I hope stigma and comments about it being 'that time of the month' won't be a barrer to women seeking help. Your body is not something you should be ashamed of!
