I don't know who I am anymore and it's affecting my life. I don't know whats important to me so I don't know where to be or how to be. Has anyone else ever gone through this?

Yes. Nearly everyone one goes through this difficult time at some point in their life. The best way to get over it is just to be. If you go on a long search trying to find yourself it will be difficult - personally the best way to find myself has been by just being. By working, studying, playing, and moving on despite the empty feeling.
It helps because you are being pro-active. Even if you feel you don't know yourself your actions will begin to shape you - and a new, good, and hopefully better you will come back:)
You're not alone and you are going to work through it. You got this!

You're definitely not alone, especially in the mental health community. I think everyone goes through periods in their lives where they question who they are and the choices they've made. This can also be a result of experiencing a traumatic event. Trauma often causes your world view to be turned on it's head rather suddenly, making you question your actions, feel guilty about the past, and seem paralyzed in the face of the future. The most important thing is to be gentle with yourself and give it time. We all change throughout our lives, and that's not a bad thing. Allow yourself to embrace it, even if you can't yet define it

As a teenager, I go through the same thing every single day. In fact, I often feel like that's the main point in teen hood! However, the truth is, nobody truly knows exactly who they are. That's also what life, in general, is about, at least certain parts of it. I think as long as you can identify core parts of your identity (spirituality, empathy, love, etc.), it'll help you to find the rest of yourself. Life is a beautiful gift, and inside the wrapping is an incredible and unique journey that is identical to no one else's. It's yours to experience, so live passionately and joy every moment of it. Smile every hour and laugh every day and you'll be fine.

Yes! I too have been there. There are just times that you feel you are not yourself anymore. You're not motivated, you feel numb, restless and tired. You're just there staring and crying and asking yourself "what's wrong with me?"
That's a very tough situation, so if you're in one, just keep going. At the end of the day, you will be able to pick up pieces of yourself. Keep going no matter what, if you need rest go for it. Do the things that will make you feel better. And constantly remind yourself that "I'll get through this".
