Depends on if you're the one expressing stress or sadness.
If you are expressing the two: Be calm and understand it's part of being human to express those feelings and things will be okay and you will be okay.
If someone else is expressing stress and sadness: Just be there for them and things will be okay and just make sure they will be okay and they won't hurt themselves and all.

Breath, have fun, and take your mind off things. Don't let pressure handle you, handle your pressure. Stress can grip you tight, but you have to keep on holding on.

You should use things such as diapragmatic breathing. Feel the air fill your abdomen and breathe in intervals!

From my personal experience the best way of handling such things is to talk and express them. If we keep these feelings to ourselves, we can only do harm and that's not healthy. So looking out for a friend, a family member, a professional or even listener here in 7 cups will help immensely. Sometimes when a person also doesn't want to talk, doing something that distracts the mind is very good. Taking a walk or going for a swim are just examples.

Its important to let these emotions out, to express them, to share them, to confide in those that are close with you if possible, in an effort to let these emotions loose--to relieve yourself of such burdening, overwhelming feelings. Take deep breaths, try to keep calm and cool, collected and relax; lie down, take a nice warm bath or shower, find some peace in reading or being outside, do things that will bring you internal containment--a form of relief. Overall, relieving stress and pain, sadness and anger is troubling and hard, not the easiest to do; but its possible, with the right steps, patience and time! Take it east, one step and one breath at a time.

I believe one should be calm and think abut the situation, considering all the pros and cons. Then, accordingly to what feels the best for them, doing what pleases them the most can be a great relief and reward.

let it out. have time for yourself. reflect on what's causing you stress and sadness. it's okay to embrace these, so it won't eventually catch up on you and make it even worse.
