I have quite a few tips on controlling negative thinking. Negative thinking always comes from a few things: Low self-esteem, overthinking, and depression. Low self-esteem can cause great damage to a person. Try finding something you like about yourself. Look in the mirror. It could be hair color, eyes, freckles, anything! Once you have found something you like about yourself, build off of that. Find something every day that you like about yourself. Next, surround yourself with people who love and care about you. It is easy to feel happy and content when you are around joyful people. Overthinking is a big one I've heard of a lot. People tend to overthink even the littlest things and turn it around into something very negative. It is easy to let yourself overthink. Sometimes, you won't even realize you're overthinking. A way to help with that is to distract yourself, escape your own mind. Find a hobby or a great show you like to watch. It will distract your mind from overthinking. And last, is depression. Depression is always the hardest to recover from since it always kind of follows you. Along with depression comes eating disorders, and lack of sleep. A way to help with this is kind of the same with the overthinking. Surround yourself with people who love you, and adore you. They will truly show you just how much they care.

This is a good question, but a tricky one to answer. I don't think it's possible to remove all negative thinking from ones mind. That would be the equivalent of saying "Okay, from this day on I will never feel sad again." It just isn't possible. Everyone is going to have negative thoughts from time to time, this is unavoidable. What matters is what you do with the thought. Do you let it drive your actions or emotions? That's when the problem arises. I'd suggest looking at a negative thought just the same way you look at any other "normal" thought. Let it come, acknowledge it, then let it pass away just like any other thought. It doesn't have to have any more power than any other. I hope this helps :)

Every time you encounter a bad thought, try and think of a way to turn it around or counter it with a positive thought. For example, if I were to think how horribly I was going to do on a test, I could change it so it would be I was going to do great on the test, or challenge the thought by saying; well, I studied a lot for this test so there isn’t any reason I should do badly. Another way to counter a negative thought is to think of something else that is positive in that situation

Sometimes it is hard to prevent negative thinking. Sometimes those thoughts just pop into your head out of nowhere, and suddenly distract you from what you’re doing. It is easy to let those thoughts distract you, and ruminate for a long time. While you cannot prevent the initial thought, you can prevent the thoughts that come after the original thought. Instead of thinking about your negative thought, instead say, “that was odd, I know it’s probably not true, so I’m not going to focus on it.†Prevent rumination, and try to move on with your day. Don’t let one thought spiral out of control

Surrounding yourself with the right people plays a big factor into positive thinking and a positive mindset. When walking into a new situation that you find negative, instead, ponder on what could go right and how you can make sure that it does go right and that it won’t go wrong. Having a support team can also help too. Being around others who want you to succeed and give you advice on how to be the best can help tremendously. These people will encourage you, provide tips and tricks, give personal stories that maybe give you a leg up, and believe in you for the better.

Negative thinking seems to come when I'm tired, stressed, hungry or have had a negative interaction with someone else. The first thing I do is work towards meeting my basic needs. If I'm in a negative mood because I haven't eaten in a while, I try to remedy that as soon as possible. If I'm tired, I think, "wow I haven't been sleeping well, I need to be well rested so I don't get these negative thoughts." If I'm overall stressed, I think about what I'm thankful for or think of a way to decompress to reduce my stress level. If I've had a negative interaction with another person, I give myself the space and time to think through the interaction and assess what bothered me about it. By having a strategy for each of the possible reasons that lead me to negative thought patterns, I can regain control over the situation and get back on track with positive thinking and actions.

I prevent negative thinking by first being aware of it. Once I start to have negative thought coming into my head, I would ask myself, is it fact or is it just my own thought. Then when I realize it is not fact but a piece of thought that combines with my own feelings, I will start asking myself what exactly that I am feeling right now and say to myself that it is ok to accept those feelings as long as they are real and true. So after accepting those negative feelings, I then ask myself why I feel what I feel. What is the root cause of those feelings. Then I would ask myself, is there any other way to see and feel this same situation. By going through all those steps, it helps not only prevent the negative thoughts but also help me understand the person or situations from a different point of view as well.

You attract what you think when you have a negative thought it reflects and comes back to you, my tip is: Eliminate negative thoughts and focus your energy on positive thoughts!
You attract everything to yourself like a magnet. The problems? They are part of life, and will always exist. The important thing is to have a positive view of everything believing in the best, train your mind to create solutions instead of focusing on problems.
Everything you think happens. Think positive always, have good feelings, imagine what you want and think about your desire fulfilled in your satisfaction when receiving it and THANK you always.
Celebrate good feelings and feed them, everything you think and feel today the law of attraction will bring to you. The more you feel good, happy and prosper the more you will be attracted to your life.
Be grateful for what you have and make this Gratitude multiply every day and see your thoughts come true.

Trust the process. Everything going on in your life right now, no matter how hard it may be, is going to teach you so much about yourself and prove what a strong and powerful person you are. Negative thinking is inevitable, but knowing that your worries are valid and that it's okay to feel that way is so important. Be kind to yourself and know that everything happens for a reason. A good thing to practise is being conscious of your thinking patterns. For example, if you notice yourself starting to think negatively, take a deep breathe and gently remind yourself that you are safe and things are going to be okay. Whatever is going on inside your head, please just know that you don't have to do it alone. We're all here for you if you need us :)
