There is no easy way out. You need to solely focus on the good. Keep up gratitude practice. Do whatever makes you happy and whatever keeps you alive. Hold on to good people and inspiration. It gets better. Optimism is very crucial. Practice and practice and soon the negative thought process will die down and will be replaced with nothing but positive thoughts. Have faith and hope at all times.

You kinda don't. You can only try to ignore it. But not ignore it in the way of running away from your problems. Ignoring it in the sense that you acknowledge that you have negative thoughts, you confront them face-to-face, then you take a deep breath and try to think better thoughts. Try to find a positive solution to your negative thoughts.
