The tactic that I find beneficial, is to write out everything you need to get done in a day. Do it in the evening, so that you have time to mentally prepare and be conscious of the things you will have in the upcoming day, and don't get overwhelmed. Get prepared, and focus on one thing at a time. Physically ticking off an item off of a TO DO LIST, will also make you feel accomplished. These do not necessary need to be chores. Things like "Smile" and "Just Breathe" are constant items on my do to lists, and help me remember to take it one day at a time.

When you wake up, you can either make a mental list or a real list on paper of the things that are important. This list can change day to day or you can write a semi permanent list and tape it somewhere you see everyday. Say the things on the list to yourself and you can even reference it throughout the day when it gets tough.

Write down your goals on a piece of paper, and put it in your pocket. Every time you go into that pocket, take out the piece of paper and tick off your targets as you complete them.

Lists. Lists have always helped me be productive. if you don't end up looking at the list? An alarm saying what you should be doing. Just some kind of way to remind you that you have stuff you need to do today other than procrastinating.

It can be difficult to focus on just what you need to do to get through today. Sometimes relaxation methods like diaphragmatic breathing can help us slow our mind down enough to focus. Other times it's helpful ti write out what needs to get done to help you prioritize what has to be done today and what can be done in the future. Other times it's a matter of enjoying some time with a friend or doing something fun to feel refreshed enough to refocus and move on with the day.

A lot of people have already suggested writing lists, and that's a great way to start. Setting reminders for yourself can also help to keep you focused. Start the day by telling yourself, or reading out what you think is important. Continue with your day, and have set time slots (reminders) where you re-read it or tell yourself again. For some, drawing or mapping out what needs to happen in the day can help; as some are more visual than others. There are a lot of different apps that may help as well if you use your phone a lot.

Find something to focus on. Maybe it is a bracelet or a key you bring around with you. Keep it with you, and when you are upset, look at it and smile. That way you can always remember the good aspects of your life. :) good luck
