Grounding techniques have been something that has helped me in similar situations. Another thing that helps me to stop overthinking is to avoid my what if thoughts. These are what cause me to over think because I am thinking of so many possibilities rather than just enjoying myself Figuring out why I tend to over think or what causes my anxiety to the point where I overthink my each move helps me to avoid overthinking. Knowing your triggers and how to manage them will prevent overthinking from happening. These are only things that I know work with myself but it is worth a try!

Well this is interesting subject. I would say from my expirience that there is no universal way to heal such a thing. It is normal and you just learn to live with it. You do not just "stop" to overthink, no... this is impossible to be done out of nowhere. Instead you accept that you are overthinking. You realize it and just use your will not to let it take over you. Because this is how the brain works and you can't push out a thought by thinking about it. You just think about something else, you let yourself trust others, trust the world no matter how scary the result may be. Not everything is okay, not everything will be okay but it will be just fine as far as you accept it as such.
