Well sometimes people can feel lonely in a group of people. You don't have to be alone to feel lonely. That's where isolation comes. If you feel isolated it may be because of the people but it could be a choice thing etc.

Isolation is comunly sef indulced, is the act of not interacting with another person, at all, during a certain period of time. While loneliness is more like a feeling, you could be surrounded by people but still feel like you are lonly at the end, even if you have friends you talk to everyday or people you often see. I think one way to distinguish the difference between the two is that isolation is situational. You chose to be alone, or you were put in isolation. Loneliness is a feeling. You feel alone.
