isolation is when you physically pull yourself away from the things you like and the people you know and love and not let yourself be seen or heard from while loneliness is the feeling that can be caused by isolation. Sometimes you can feel lonely even when being with people because perhaps you don't feel like you fit in or they don't think alike.

Loneliness can occur even when a person is around family, friends and they may even have a partner. Loneliness happens when the quality of those relationships is lacking and not at the level that you'd like it to be. Isolation is being physical, mentally or socially set away from other people or things.

Isolation is literally putting yourself away from everyone. You “lock” yourself in your room. You don’t socialize with people, make eye contact with people, or even want to see people. Loneliness is feeling like you’re all alone in a room full of 100 people.

The difference is mainly your choice. Isolation is being alone by your choice, like living alone, not liking to hangout... Loneliness is sometimes out of your hands and not by your choice, like losing loved ones, not being in a relationship or not having many friends.
