I'm still inlove with my straight highschool bestfriend. I last saw him 4yrs ago and just recently started speaking again but the feelings are still the same especially on my end. What does that mean?

I guess you still love straight friend. It is what it is. Love is beautiful thing. Since you mentioned your friend is straight, the love may not lead to a romantic outcome. It is what it is. True love is unconditional as they say. Unrequited love is still love. For me, I am happy if the one I love is happy. Their existence gives me joy. That is suffice for me. It is selfish to hold on to someone and to try to mold the person into what you want them to be. They should have the freedom to be who they are. So a lot of things are out of your control.

It means you have feelings for him. If you know for sure that he's straight then I wouldn't pursue it any further. IT would only lead to heartbreak. Best to keep away if you can't let go of the feelings you have for him. I've seem this happen before and it didn't end very well for my friend. She told her how she felt and it just broke their friendship up completely. If your feelings are too strong and they won't go away, I would suggest to let go of that friendship. Sorry I know its harsh but you need to protect your feelings.

Sometimes when we've liked someone for so long but there was really never anything to end that connection, when we stop seeing them our feelings may seem to fade or not. When we see them again they can seem stronger sometimes. Depending on how long it's been though, they may have changed and become a completely different person. I suggest giving it some time, see if they are the same person you fell in love with and if they are, then maybe try talking to them about it. At least then you know your feelings are still towards the same type of person.

This could mean a number of things. It could mean that you are living in the past and that the feeling are just reminisent of how you use to feel. It could also mean that you never really got over him.. What do you think the feeling mean? Do you think that the feelings are true feelings of love or do you think it could be just old feelings being brought to the surface? Love is a strong word and it could be that you are feeling love towards the friendship and not love in a realtionship status
