Why is my son gay?

There's no specific reason as to why. Some scientists insist that it's genetic and it might be. A great argument is that the human race is trying to prevent overpopulation. There's nothing wrong or abnormal with it, hundreds of species show homosexual behaviour, but of all of them, only humans are homophobic. I'm not sure your question can be answered any other way. Being gay is not a choice. Sexuality is fluid and there is no "right" or "wrong" answer. People tend to think of sexuality and gender as black and white or binaries but they are not -- there is gray area and that's what so beautiful about being a human being.

Sexuality is not a chooce. He was gay all his life but he has just know taken a huge step im his life to tell you. It's very scary to come out to your parents. Personally Im still tring to come out to them. So why is your son gay, he's gay cause thats who he is. He's not a different person so you should still love and support him in his life. Being gay can be hard so he's going to need one loving and supporting person and you should be that person

Because it is awesome to be gay. Nobody rubbed it off on him he is just attracted to men and thats okay.

i really dont think the question should be 'why' . like if he's gay. then he's gay. you can't really control who he likes. being gay isn't really all forbidden too. so if he IS gay, maybe you could support him for liking the same sex. it would really make him feel much better :)

well we are all created differently, and its a personal choice every body chooses the path that they are happy with, he is still your son, still a person and you should love a person for who they are not what they are.

There is a lot still unknown about the "cause" of homosexuality, but science is clear on one thing, it is not s choice. Sexual preferences are mostly hard wired into who we are. Your son is gay simply for the same reason you are straight...because he just is.

Because he is. It doesn't matter why. It matters that he is gay and that anybody should support any sexual orientation.

Your son is gay because his sexual preference is the same gender. People feel the need to portray it as something different when in all actuality, it's not. You should feel proud that your son had the courage to show his true self to you. Your son is just like everyone else, and I hope that you can see that.
