I don't know. People are judgmental and don't understand that it is not a choice and we can't change. Hopefully the next generation will be accepting and understanding.

Because that, my dear one, is what we call a utopia. Sadly this is not going to happen anytime soon as humanity has always looked down on varity within sexuality.

Humanity, as a whole, fears and hates what it does not understand. Because they cannot understand why others love the way they do, they hate them instead.

Unfortunately, although I too would like for the world to treat everybody equally, people will always have different views and opinions than other people which is just life.
However, sometimes it is best to keep those opinions to yourself as just because someone may not agree with something; doesn't mean they need to voice it out-loud.

People are afraid of what they don't understand, so the look for comfort. Lots of people turn to the Bible, or another holy book, where it might say being gay is frowned upon. They will take it out of context and say gay is wrong, which makes them feel more comfortable with the world. They can't accept it because they don't fully understand it. In a world full of ignorance, equality is hard to come by.

Unfortunately, due to the human condition and perpetuation of stigmas (especially through the media) it's difficult to find a society where people are treated fairly in accord to whatever they identify as sexually. I'm gay and trans myself and have had to think about this a lot growing up, and have seen through friends that these sorts of stigmas exist without cultural boundary. When a stigma sparks and is carried on, it's incredibly difficult to get rid of, sadly..

I wish. And while we're there, let's add race, gender, religion, beliefs, and money state to the mix. As long as your beliefs don't affect anyone elses life in a negative way, you should be respected.

Well, in short, our world sucks. But we can't just presume to know that if the world was like this, it would definitely be a better place.

When the world evolves, evil evolves with it. Even if we all, as a society, moved on from our past mistakes and bettered ourselves, new problems would arise. Plus, some people are afraid of change, and refuse to let go of familiar, outdated ideals. It's an amazing fantasy to wish up a world where everyone is treated equal, but in reality, all we can do is work towards that perfection. It's just sadly reality we'll never be that perfect society. We can get better, get closer, but humans just seem to hate other humans, and the cycle continues on and on and on. It's heartbreaking in some ways, but all we can do is make it better, not perfect.
