I am transitioning from female to male and I'm considering not wearing a bra. I feel uncomfortable with this idea bit because of past trauma. How should I handle doing this?

So, you're considering stopping wearing a bra and you're uncomfortable with that because of past trauma ? In fact you need breast-support without it being a bra ? If that's it, then you can consider wearing a binder, it's a compressing t-shirt made of spandex mostly, to flatten the chest. Most trans men who need flattening their chest do that, it's way safer than wearing medical tapes.
It allows you to have a flat chest while procuring enough support (from the compression) for anything to stay in place.
Having no idea about what is really uncomfortable for you, it's not easy to give you an appropriate answer, I hope I covered what you were talking about.
Anyway, the best way to be sure how you'll feel, is to try : try what seems ok with you, and then if it makes you uncomfortable, then you'll try something else until you find what feels good for you :)

Maybe you can first start doing this when you're alone at home, then only when you are in the company of someone that makes you feel comfortable, and then little by little with everyone else. A gradual change will help you get familiar and more comfortable with the idea. Just don't push yourself if you don't feel like it's right moment and you're not comfortable with it right now. Give yourself time.

If you feel uncomfortable then you can still wear a bra or something that supports you underneath your Shirt. If you feel insecure maybe find something that wouldn't attract attention, something that is low profile. I would best suggest you can also find alternatives to Bra online such as a vest or something similar. Maybe have a look around online or ask a trusted friend or family member t o find you something that is low profile and similar alternatives that can support your body while going through your transformation. I wish you Good luck with your new Journey.
