There is no test or questionnaire for this type of thing. It is just like your sexuality it's something you just have to listen to your intuition. It is very different for everyone. Some people know at childhood others don't know until middle age.

There isn't really a checklist for knowing what your gender is. I think if you just feel like your mind doesn't fit the gender you were assigned at birth, or if you feel like you're trapped in your body.

I think you'll know if you're transgender when the time comes. If you always have a feeling that you feel out of place, or think you were meant to be the opposite gender, that's a pretty good starting point.

Well you can try to ask yourself: Do you feel your body isn't the right for you? Do you identify with the opposite gender than the one was given to you at birth? Although these are two big questions not easy to answer, the thinking about them is rather necessary to understand.

I knew 100% when puberty set in, but I had always felt a disconnect between my biological sex and my gender. It's different for everyone so it may take some time, but if you feel like you were "born in the wrong body" than you may be transgender. The term "transgender" is an umbrella term, meaning it's a group of people from biological males who identify as female, biological females who identify as male, biological males or females who identify and as neither, both, or even an entirely unique gender. It just depends on who you are and how good you are a recognizing red flags.

I am gender fluid. And, I think I always knew but did not have the words for it until a few years ago. I just felt like being a woman was an act or charade I put on. And, being a man was kind of a show too. I think when we are allowed to be truly free, we do not adhere to the promoted gender binary as much as we think. It is more of a spectrum than a pendulum. I think gender is one of those illusions that society treats as a static reality. So, the question becomes how do we all accept our somewhat transgendered truth?

Transgender people obviously feel as if they're another gender. It's a lot different from being just a "tomboy" or "girly" because you can enjoy things the opposite gender does. Trans* people experience dysphoria which is a terrible feeling and usually want to transition. If you think you're transgender, search up something about the different genders and find whatever fits you. If you don't know now or are just curious, that's okay. You define who you are, no one else.
