How can I get my parents and or family to use the right pronoun and name?

With coming out to your family it can be hard if they don’t use the correct pronouns and name. If you think they’re not doing it on purpose the most you can do is correct them for whenever they don’t use your correct pronouns or name until they’ve gotten the hang of it. It does take a while sometimes for people to get the hang of using your name and pronouns correctly but eventually they should have gotten used to it. If you think they’re doing it on purpose then it might be a good idea to sit them down and talk to them about how not using the correct pronouns and name makes you feel. Don’t make it sound like their fault even if you know it is. They’re less likely to agree if they feel like you’re blaming them. I wish you luck 💛
