Breathe.
The very first thing I do is breathe and take time to try to relax inside my head, the situation can really get to you in the moment so jumping on top of that and trying to fight it with mental calmness can help you last out, or figured out how to escape from the situation.
The next thing is trying to last through it, or escape it; based on what it is. If it's abusive or inappropriate you want to escape from it if possible, but if it's like a stern talking to or something you want to try to pay attention and work through it.
Stressful situations can be learned from sometimes.

I go outside and wander around. I tell myself "There is no where I need to be right now except here, I am just wandering." I suspend all my obligations for half an hour and just walk down the street, go to a park and sit down and breathe for awhile. For me, being outside and in nature has always cleared my head. For you, it may be something different. Hold on to the things that make you feel free and calm, whether it is alone or with other people. I find that the feeling of being trapped usually passes in a few hours at most. If it doesn't go away, consider if there is a larger reason why you are feeling trapped, if it is a relationship or a life event, and go seek out someone trustworthy to talk to.

The first thing I do is consider my options. There is always a choice, even if it simply the choice to view the situation differently. If there are truly no steps to take at the moment, then I do nothing and wait for the situation to change, externally or internally.

It's depressing to feel trapped and certainly helpless about getting out of it. One of the ways I try to resolve this uneasy feeling is to share my story, issues and struggles with someone who is willing to hear and present their third person view of my struggle. Perhaps, in this way I can feel lighter and sense a way out of feeling trapped.

I think I might be schizophrenic, but I'm afraid if I bring my concerns to a doctor, they'll tell me there's nothing wrong even if there is, because I already think I have it. What do I do?
