I just can't seem to get out of the vicious cycle. Everything feels numb, and I don't have any motivation to get up and do the things that I used to love. How can I get rid of this?

Talk to someone, express your feelings about what you're going through. Weather it is to a family member or here on 7 cups to a listener, or therapist, or your own therapist. Find out what are the choices you are making in your life, or have made in your life in the past that keeps you in this vicious cycle. Often you need to be honest with your feelings about what you feel, and how you see the world around you. And make choices that honor those feelings and emotions. When what you feel, think, and do are in alignment you will feel more like yourself. But you need to express these emotions to find out the root causes and find our how you can chance the choices your making on a regular basis to honor your true self.

I understand how this feels. It sounds like you're depressed and keep finding yourself back in the pit of hopelessness. Making connections with others can really help you from getting lost in ambivalence. It's a lot harder to numb out when you have people to talk to. If this has been a chronic issue for you I suggest seeking professional help. I was skeptical about seeing a psychiatrist after several deep depressive episodes but I'm glad I did because medication and therapy helped me immensely. I hope your pain eases soon and good luck!
