Sometimes the best person to listen to is yourself. You have been through all of your experiences and feelings that one else has experienced.
It seems to me that you have a good understanding of your feelings and concerns. Honor that without the need of others to tell you what to or not to feel. It's respectful to accept their opinions because they know you well, but others will not recognize you as well as you do.
Your concerns are valid because you have arrived and you state your feelings. The term "authentic" describes such clear thinking.
Coming to 7 cups and working with a listener can help reinforce authentic feels. A listener can help you apply this way of thinking to help you resolve such issues and others in your life.

they might think so because in their generation things went different like how it is now.
As for you, first don't worry about what your parents say. Your feelings and thoughts are valid and it keeps smothering on you.. i know it's pain.
Perhaps you wanted to talk about it to your friends, having supports. then with the power of friendships, they could take you together to psychologists. Don't worry, you share your burdens together, and no one judge you. The most important thing is your well being.
