In my experience it's best to be open and intentional. Start by expressing your thoughts clearly as AI chatbots respond best when you provide details rather than vague statements. For example, instead of saying “I feel bad,” try “I’ve been feeling anxious about my exams, and it’s overwhelming.” This helps the AI offer more relevant answers and questions. Try answering the questions too as it helps the AI understand your situation. Engage with any self-help exercises or coping strategies it suggests, as many use evidence-based techniques like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness. Always remember that AI apps aren't a replacement for therapy though! I suggest you give it a try and explore how you like it or how you can best use it. On 7 Cups I've tried chatting to Noni a few times a month because it is free, and I've tried downloading other apps on my phone for exercises or mood tracking too.
