Yes you can be. Some people that are autistc do try actively communicating to others. They just may appear as more awkward or say socially inappropriate things when they do. They are more often shunned by their peers because of how they act and communicate to them at times. For example actively approaching a person they want to talk to, but ignored because the recipient does not want to discuss rigid or uninteresting topics. So I believe that they do want to be around people but don't know how. With the right group of friends and support they can be just as outgoing as a person without autism. Their disorder does not make them less sociable it just depends on the person like any person without autism could also not be outgoing or very outgoing.
i'm worried about my friend's mental health. Everyone views him as rude but no one ever praises him for anything and lash out at him all the time, so he responds. How can I help the situation?

I’m feeling suicidal, but I have no one to talk to. I can’t call any hotlines or anything like that because of my severe social phobia and there doesn’t seem to be anywhere I can chat to someone. Where can I get some help and feel safe doing this?
