Why don't you talk to your family members about it?

Sometimes family members just won't understand what we go through. Specially when there is a lot of age difference between the parents and the child. It's the same with me, no matter how hard my parents try to understand and out themselves in my place, there are just some things they won't get! But well, at least they try and that itself makes me grateful :3

The only family members I don't involve are my parents. I have touched on such things, but the reaction was not favorable. I am older and understand the issues with being raised how I was, abused and such; my parents simply didn't know any better. But my father has been bottled up for decades and, at 70, the chances of him changing are limited. Karma has made him an angry old man. I just maintain a relationship as best I can but I don't see any way I could ever talk to him about it. My mother is much the same.

Because you fear that everything you have with them will change. The way they treat will change. The way they talk and act will change around you. You fear that. Or you may also fear how they will react.

I didn't talk to my family about what I was going through because I didn't want them to worry, and I was too afraid, but I eventually did tell someone, it helps if I didn't tell someone I don't know where I would be right now.

Sometimes it may be hard for people to discuss personal matters with the people they love. Either they don't want to worry/upset them, or they don't feel that their relatives will react in a positive and supportive way.

This is a great idea, many people don't speak up about their feelings because they feel they will be judged but i say there's always a person who cares.

I would be scared that they would try and help. The more they try and help, the more I feel like I couldn't do it myself. I also don't want them to get burdened with my issues. It's not their fault that I feel this was, so they shouldn't be trying to help me. The more they try, they more they are hurting themselves. Also, life would be terribly boring if others did everything for you. In order to not be bored, I try to get through some of my pain on my own.

Because they would judge me with constraints and double standards. Talking to some non family member helps get an open-minded review
