Sometimes, we might be helping family in a way we would want to be helped. It might not be what they need. Sometimes just hovering in the background, may be enough. So when we try to help family we should pause understand, their reactions and needs and then respond. At times if a family member is facing a problem/situation, they best way to help might be silent company. Therefore it is important to understand family member's specific needs. At times we might not be able to offer a solution, but an active support without verbalizing the same can also do the trick.

Sometimes people need their space to figure out things, you can only help so much at the end its the persons choice.
Some people learn from others mistakes while others prefer to make their own mistakes and learn from it.
At the end of the day whatever choice the person makes the person is gonna make regardless your told them so or not.

Hello. It sounds like you want to share your perspective and maybe some advice with family you love and care about. It can be hurtful when you feel your experience for situations you've personally been through is not valued. We can become so attached to our experiences that it's hard to not share them and I wish your family could better understand your willingness to hear-out what they see as happening in their lives. I'm sure you have a lot to offer and I think at the right time, they'll see you are listening and willing to see them through their own tough times. Will you give them a little more time and then try again?
