Some do it because it feels better, like they don't feel comfortable with mom or dad. While some say it just to get on their nerves. It all depends on the child

I only know of one person that calls his parents by their first names, and that is because he gets along with them very well and he respects them. However, I can see how for many parents it may be seen as a sign of disrespect and rebellion, a way to undermine their authority.

It must be cultural. Not all kids do that. Children learn by imitating what they see and hear from their role models. If they see, that calling their parents by their first names doesn't result to punishment, the more likely they will continue to do that.

It's different in many cases. Sometimes it's the parenting style, the parent may want their child to learn their name first, so, it may work like that. Other times, it may be out of disrespect.

Thats to do with their upbringing. They might have been allowed to do so by their parents. It isnt always disrespectful, it might be used as a jokey thing. But it all comes down to the upbringing of the kid.

Not all children call their parents by their first name, but some reasons could be: 1. they see them as their best friend, but there's still that mutual respect 2. their parents don't really want themselves to be called "mum" or "dad"
