Budget your time wisely. Don't do things last minute (like I sometimes slip into doing), because planning things out beforehand and actually executing things as planned will help you get your schoolwork done quickly leaving you time to spend freely with your family.

It's all about balancing time. You get home from school after a long day and do all your schoolwork and sit with your family for dinner. Take that dinner time as a good hour to chat and connect to your family members. If you have to stay after school for sports or other extracurricular activities you are involved in, then it is a given that you would get home later than usual and you would be exhausted and would want to just hit the bedroom and get some rest. This makes the weekends handy since the weekends would be good for spending time with family.

I believe a great way to find balance between school and family is to involve them into your school/studies. For example, ask questions, ask for help, teach them something, etc...

School is always important just as family. School does require more attention because it will help define your future. Make sure your family supports you as you focus on your studies. If that's not working, step back and breath. Assess your situation and take each task one at a time. Address what needs attention first.
