I would talk to my family about it and ask them why they feel I should quit doing it. If it's something which they believe is harming me mentally/physically or both and I don't believe that then I'll show them that it isn't by introducing them to it further or show them something positive that has come out from me doing this. If it is something that is harming me and they know it is as well then I would consider all of the different options to either make it so nothing will be harming me when doing whatever it is I love or replacing it with something else that I know I would love instead.

If this were to happen, I would encourage you to put your foot down. Sometimes, there are things that were just made for us. And if you've found the love and passion for it, you shouldn't stop just because other people have told you to. Explain to them why you love it. But of course make sure what you do is positive. If its not good for your health and your parents have asked you to stop, take a step back and see how it is affecting you. Understand why they have told you to stop and get on the same page as them. Try and have a rational and civil discussion with them.
