My parents don’t listen to me. I told them how I felt and kept my cool for 3 years and now I want to snap. They keep thinking that me talking to them about the subject is a joke. What should I do?

I would pick up a copy of a book called “adult children of emotionally imagine parents” or on audiobook. Sometimes our parents just don’t have the emotional capabilities to listen, respond, or even love us how we need to be or want to be. This book will give you the tools and a new perspective on your relationship with your parents. It’s not about “fixing” them it’s more about coming to terms with not being able to get what you want from them in the form that you think you need it. But regardless, I would look at why it’s important to you for them to listen to you and what it is exactly you would get from them listening to you. More than likely they are giving you what you need in a form that you don’t expect. So explore that and let go of these expectations of them.
