It's better to tell them straight forward rather than avoid their questions as in the end, there will be the time you'll need to tell them what they've been chasing you to answer. At that time, tell them what you need from them is their support and not their judgement. And also assure them that you have been thinking through all the plans and choices you make and prepare with everything that will come along way. Give them your point of view about your plans and the reasons behind it. You're welcome for their suggestion but not their judgement. You will consider their thoughts/opinion and suggestions but in the end you will be the one who make the final decision. And that you understand their worries and expectation but they have to realize you are the one who will lead your life and their responsibility is to watch over you, just in case you're deviate from your plans and put you in right course again without judgement.

You should do what makes you happy. Your parents may be harsh because they just want the best for you. I think you shouldn't avoid it but approach them about it and tell them how you see your future. They are your parents and they will love you what ever you decide to do.
Explain everything to them and this way you even can grow closer to each other.
I hope this will help you to make a decision. I understand it's hard and it's totally normal that you feel this way.
you should do what you think is best.

Hi,
I have been through the same thing but if you look at it- make them your motivation to be successful. You are special and if you think your plans will do you good, go for it. Our parents want the best for us. Improve yourself and let them see you succeed in whatever path you take. It will take time, but with determination and the proper mindset and attitude, they will be proud of you. Most of the time parents just want their kids to be safe and to be happy, they do not want us to be hurt so they are trying to protect you. Just keep going on.
